About
I’m Kadence, an artist and illustrator based in London, raised between Hong Kong and the US, with an MA in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, UAL.
I started Dear it’s Friday in 2020. The intention was simple: to find inspiration in ordinary life and make it funny through simple visuals. Life is full of nonsense and sadness, and I hope these drawings land like a gentle touch on your heart, or a soothing snack to munch on somewhere along the way.
It began with a small cast of characters, a cat, a dog, and a figure drawn without a fixed gender, so that anyone looking can step straight into them. Since then DiF has grown into risograph cards and prints, original acrylic paintings, merchandise, café windows and activewear.
I print the risograph work myself, on my own machine, in London. DiF now works between London and Hong Kong, with solo exhibitions in both cities, brand collaborations, and stockists across the UK and Hong Kong.
